MADISON, S.D. - The South Dakota State women's cross country team found a win at the Dakota State Herb Blakely Invitational Saturday in Madison, S.D.
The Jackrabbits, with a team score of 34, out ran competing schools Briar Cliff and Dakota State, which had 41 and 57 team points, respectively.
Barbara Wehde led the Jacks across the finish line with a time of 20 minutes 10.41 seconds in the 5k and a fourth-place finish.
Allison Anderson and Hope Paulson followed in 10th and 11th places. Anderson finished in 20:59.16 and Paulson with a time fo 21:01.38.
Other Jackrabbits to compete were Jessica Ludvik (14th, 21:25.88), Melissa Zamlicka (17th, 21:55.38), Arielle Schmidt (18th, 21:57.52), and Jessica Derby (29th, 24:10).
Dakota State's Stephanie Warnke won the meet with a time of 19:41.64. Thirty-five runners competed.
Both the men's and women's cross country teams are back in action Sept. 25 at the Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.
