GREELEY, Colo.—Senior Megan Waytashek led four Jackrabbits in double digits as the South Dakota State women's basketball team defeated Northern Colorado, 71-48, in nonconference action Saturday at Bank of Colorado Arena.
Waytashek (Lino Lakes, Minn.) recorded her second 20-point performance of the season, scoring 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field, including 4 of 5 from three-point range, and 4-of-4 shooting from the free-throw line.
Freshman Macy Miller (Mitchell) registered career highs with 13 points and 6 assists. Sophomore Chynna Stevens (Clark) added 11 points and senior Mariah Clarin (Princeton, Minn.) added 10 second-half points.
The Jackrabbits shot 50 percent from the field in the second half and was 20 of 21 from the foul line for the game. They also outrebounded the Bears, 43-29.
SDSU used a 14-0 run start the game and never trailed. Northern Colorado got as close as nine points early in the first half, but the Jacks took a 31-20 lead into halftime.
South Dakota State returns to action Dec. 10 when it hosts Green Bay at 7 p.m. in Frost Arena.
