Jacks Host Omaha Thursday
- The South Dakota State women's basketball team plays its lone home game in the middle of a five-game road swing when it hosts Omaha Thursday at 7 p.m. in the friendly confines of Frost Arena.
- SDSU, which played back-to-back games in less than 24 hours due to weather last week, sits at 2-2 in the Summit League standings after dropping its second road game of the Summit League season Jan. 11.
- The Jackrabbits' late second-half rally fell short at IUPUI, 68-67. For the second consecutive game, senior Mariah Clarin led three Jackrabbits in double figures with 15 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.
- Omaha lost its third consecutive Summit League game of the season, losing at Denver Jan. 8, 60-53. The Mavericks have lost their last six games, last winning Dec. 11 vs. Bakersfield, 80-68.
- Thursday's game marks the 63rd meeting between South Dakota State and Omaha. The Jackrabbits lead the series 33-29 after winning the last nine games, including the last five in Frost Arena.

A Glance at Omaha
- Omaha opened Summit League play 0-3, losing to South Dakota (64-48), at Western Illinois (71-56) and at Denver (60-53). With the loss in Denver, it is 1-6 on the road overall.
- The Mavericks went 5-7 in nonconference play and look to snap a six-game losing streak that started Dec. 14 at SIUE.
- Senior guard Mikaela Shaw leads the Mavericks and is 11th in league play in scoring, averaging 12.5 and 13 points per game, respectively. Junior guard Briana Bogard is chipping in 12.3 points. Omaha is scoring at a 60.7 clip and has a -2.4 scoring margin.
- On the boards, three Mavericks average 4-or-more rebounds per game led by Shaw's 9.5 average.
