Jacks Begin Three-Game Road Trip
- The South Dakota State women's basketball team begins a three-game road trip when it travels west to Denver for an 8 p.m. game Wednesday at Magness Arena.Â
- SDSU is 16-7 overall, 7-3 in league play and in second place in The Summit League standings. The Jackrabbits won their ninth home game of the season, fifth consecutive in Frost and seventh straight overall with a convincing 89-68 victory over Fort Wayne Feb. 8.
- Sophomore Clarissa Ober came off the bench to lead four Jackrabbits in double digits in scoring with a career-high 21 points.Â
- SDSU will be protecting a modest four-game winning streak and playing for its second consecutive road win Wednesday.
- With four wins in a row, the Jackrabbits look to make it five for the first time since winning five consecutive games between Nov. 24 and Dec. 6.
- Denver is 7-17 overall, 4-6 in Summit League play and 1-4 in its last five games after losing at Oral Roberts, 65-44, Feb. 7. The Pioneers enter Wednesday's game with a 3-2 home record in Summit League games. They are also in seventh place in The Summit League standings.
- Wednesday's game marks the seventh meeting between South Dakota State and Denver. SDSU leads the series 6-0 after the Jackrabbits defeated the Pioneers in their Summit League opener, 85-44, in Frost Arena Jan. 2.

- With its win over Fort Wayne Feb. 8, SDSU is now a game and a half behind first place South Dakota in The Summit League standings.
- SDSU lost another Jackrabbit to injury last week. Sophomore Chynna Stevens has a foot injury. No timetable has been given for her return. Freshman Ellie Thompson made her first collegiate start, replacing Stevens, in the Fort Wayne win.
- The Jacks' three-game road trip is their last of the regular season. They close their schedule with three home games Feb. 21-28.
- South Dakota State is 47-16 (.746) in Summit League road games and has won 10 of its last 13.
- The Jackrabbits are 109-21 (.838) overall in Summit League games since joining the league in 2007-08. The Jacks have won 12 of their last 15, dating to a 71-60 win over Omaha Feb. 13, 2014.

- Four reserves have been key to SDSU's success. Sophomore Clarissa Ober (4.5 ppg, 4.1 rpg) leads all non-starters in scoring and gives the Jacks size in the middle. Senior Rachel Walters (3.6 ppg, 40.6 3FG%) is another three-point threat for the Jacks. Junior Chloe Cornemann (1.3 ppg) and freshman Alexis Alexander (1.9 ppg, 1.6 apg) are solid guards who add a strong defensive presence.

- Denver looks to end its three-game losing streak Wednesday. The Pioneers dropped their second consecutive road game, losing at Oral Roberts, 65-44, Feb. 7.Â
