Senior Day
- With The Summit League regular-season title and a nine-game home winning streak on the line, the South Dakota State women's basketball team hosts IUPUI today at 2 p.m. in the friendly confines of Frost Arena in its final regular-season game.
- Today is also Senior Day at South Dakota State. Jackrabbits Megan Stuart, Rachel Walters, Megan Waytashek and Mariah Clarin will be honored prior to the game.
- Currently second in the league race, SDSU trails South Dakota by one game. If the Jackrabbits win today and the Coyotes lose, the Jacks will capture their sixth regular-season Summit League title. The Jackrabbits have earned at least the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Summit League Championship.
- SDSU is 20-8 overall and 11-4 in league play after winning its 11th overall and 7th Summit League home game Thursday, sweeping the season series with Western Illinois with a 69-49 win in Frost Arena.
- Senior Mariah Clarin and sophomore Kerri Young each scored 16 points to lead three Jackrabbit starters in double digits in scoring vs. the Leathernecks.Â
- South Dakota State will be protecting a modest nine-game home winning streak, a four-game overall winning streak and a 7-0 league record in Frost. It last lost at home Dec. 10, 2014.
- SDSU will be looking to split the season series record with IUPUI after losing 68-67 in Indianapolis Jan. 11 after playing Fort Wayne less than 24 hours earlier.Â
- IUPUI is 14-14 overall and 9-6 in league play after losing at South Dakota, 69-53, Thursday in Vermillion.

- The senior class of Megan Waytashek, Mariah Clarin, Rachel Walters and Megan Stuart have compiled a 95-35 overall record, made two NCAA Tournament appearances, earned two Summit League Tournament titles and captured three Summit League regular-season crowns.
- The Jackrabbits have a modest four-game winning streak and are winners in eight of their last nine games. In the last four games, they have won by an average of 13.8 points, limiting their opponents to 62.9 points per game, outrebounded their opponents by 4.5 and four of the Jacks' starters average 11-or-more points per game.
- SDSU has used four different lineups this season. The latest has seniors Mariah Clarin and Megan Waytashek, sophomore Kerri Young and freshmen Ellie Thompson and Macy Miller. Thompson stepped into the lineup Feb. 8, replacing sophomore Chynna Stevens who has a foot injury.Â
- South Dakota State is 61-6 (.910) all-time at home in Summit League contests and has won 31 of its last 32.
 The Jackrabbits are 113-22 (.837) overall in Summit League games since joining the league in 2007-08. The Jacks have won 16 of their last 20, dating to a 71-60 win over Omaha Feb. 13, 2014.
- SDSU head coach Aaron Johnston, who won his 350th game Dec. 29, enters today's game with a 360-125 (.742) overall record and a 113-22 (.837) league mark.
- SDSU has had a player score 20-or-more points in 16 of its 28 games.

- Statistically, South Dakota State's biggest strengths have been rebounding (the Jacks outrebound opponents by 8.5 boards per game) and free-throw shooting (.778) in Summit League-only games.
- Megan Waytashek (13.8 ppg and 37.8 three-point percentage) is having an all-league season so far. She has five 20-plus point outings, a double-double, scored in double figures 20 times and ranks ninth in overall and 11th in Summit League-only scoring (13.3).
- Macy Miller (13.9 ppg and 50.2 field goal percentage) is one of the top freshmen in The Summit League, ranking eighth overall and sixth in league-only scoring (15.0).
- Senior Mariah Clarin (12.0 ppg and 7.1 rpg) and freshman Ellie Thompson (5.7 ppg, 4.4 rpg) are in the frontcourt for the Jacks. Overall, Clarin is 12th in scoring and fifth in rebounds.
- Miller and sophomore Kerri Young (9.9 ppg and 2.7 apg) give the Jacks a pair of 6-footers in the backcourt. Both have the ability to get to the basket and hit the three-pointer.
- Four reserves have been key to SDSU's success. Sophomore Clarissa Ober (4.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg) leads all non-starters in scoring and gives the Jacks size in the middle. Senior Rachel Walters (3.5 ppg, 35.8 3FG%) is another three-point threat for the Jacks. Junior Chloe Cornemann (1.3 ppg) and freshman Alexis Alexander (1.6 ppg, 1.4 apg) are solid guards who add a strong defensive presence.

- IUPUI had a two-game winning streak snapped Thursday, losing 69-53 at South Dakota.Â
- The Jaguars have won just twice on the road this season, defeating Denver and Fort Wayne.
- Junior forward Akilah Sims leads IUPUI in scoring (11.5) and is 10th (14.3) in league play. Senior forward Nevena Markovic and junior guard Shaquira Scott are averaging 11.1 and 10.1 points per game, respectively, and rank in the top 20 in Summit League scoring.
