For the first time in school history, the South Dakota State women's golf team will compete in New Jersey when it plays its final fall event Thursday and Friday at the Pirate Invitational hosted by Seton Hall.
The 14-team field, which includes The Summit League member Omaha, begins play Thursday with the first of two rounds at the par-72, 5,902-yard Trump National Golf Club-New Course in Bedminster, N.J. The event consists of 18 holes each day. A 10 a.m. shotgun start is slated for both days.
The Jackrabbits are coming off a third-place finish at the NM State Aggie Invitational Oct. 3-4. Senior
Megan Mingo finished seventh and two other Jacks placed in the top 10.
Senior
Hallie Getz leads the team and is seventh in The Summit League with a 74.08 stroke average. She won the Chip N-Club at Nebraska Sept. 27 and has three top-five finishes this fall.
Mingo has three top-10 finishes and is second on the squad with a 74.17 stroke average.
Freshman
Teresa Toscano has two top-5 and three top-10 finishes and a 74.42 stroke average. Senior
Islamiah Fuad has a 75.11 stroke average and a pair of top-10 finishes.
Freshman
Sydney Bormann enters the Pirate Invitational with a 77.58 stroke average. Her lone top-10 finish came at the Omaha Invitational Sept. 4.
In The Summit League statistics, the Jackrabbits' 297.3 stroke average ranks second.
