The South Dakota State women's basketball team plays its second nationally ranked team this season when it hosts No. 4/5 Louisville Sunday in the friendly confines of Frost Arena.

SDSU improved to 6-1 with a 57-47 hard-fought win over Northern Iowa Thursday. Madison Guebert and Alexis Alexander scored 16 and 11 points, respectively.

Louisville, 7-0, is one of 22 Division I teams still undefeated after a 72-59 win at Indiana Thursday. This season, the Cardinals have knocked off three ranked teams and captured the preseason WNIT.

Sunday's game will be the second meeting between the Jackrabbits and the Cardinals. Louisville leads the series 1-0.

Noteworthy

South Dakota State sports a 3-0 home record and is protecting an 11-game regular-season home win streak, dating to last January.
State is 6-1 to start the season for the second consecutive year. Since moving to Division I, the best start in the last 12 years was for the 2008-09 team, which opened the season 14-1.
The Jackrabbits received one vote in Tuesday's USA Today's Coaches poll and are second in the CollegeInsider Mid-Major poll.
SDSU is also ranked second in Graham Hays' Nov. 29 espnW mid-major poll.
South Dakota State is 9-23 overall against ranked teams, but is 4-4 in Frost Arena. The last home win over a ranked foe was the upset of then-No. 16 DePaul, 88-79, Dec. 15, 2015.
The last time the Jackrabbits played four home games in a row was in the 2015-16 season when they played four between Feb. 6 and Feb. 18. State went 4-0.
Macy Miller has scored 20-or-more points three times. She averages 16.7 points per game.
South Dakota State needs four wins to record 950 wins in the program's 52 years. The Jacks have a 946-412 (.696) all-time record.

Jackrabbits in Mid-Major Poll

South Dakota State is ranked second in the Nov. 28 CollegeInsider Mid-Major poll.
SDSU has been ranked in the Mid-Major Top 25 Poll 103 of the last 104 weeks.
The Jackrabbits, who were picked No. 1 in last year's preseason poll, finished 15th at the end of the 2016-17 season.

The Cardinals have three players averaging double digits in scoring. Junior guard Asia Durr leads the team, averaging 17.7 points per game. Senior forward Myisha Hines-Allen and sophomore guard Jazmine Jones are scoring 15.1 and 10.7 points per game, respectively.
Hines-Allen averages a team-leading 11.4 rebounds per game. Louisville is outrebounding opponents by 16.1 caroms a game.
Freshman guard Dana Evans is dishing 4.0 assists per game.
Durr is the Cardinals' top 3-point threat, sinking 42.9 percent (21-49) of her shots.
Louisville has eight players averaging five-or-more points and 10 players are averaging 10-or-more minutes per game.
