Sitting atop The Summit League standings undefeated, South Dakota State faces a tough challenge when it plays at Oral Roberts Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Mabee Center

The Jackrabbits improved to 13-4 overall and 3-0 Summit League. They are just one of two teams still undefeated in league play (South Dakota).

SDSU won its third league game of the season with a come-from-behind win at Denver Thursday. Summit League Player of the Year candidate Macy Miller and Summit League All-League candidate Madison Guebert each scored a game-high 18 points.

With the Denver win, SDSU has now won eight of the last 11 games against league members, dating to last season.

Oral Roberts is 11-6 overall and 3-1 in The Summit League after defeating North Dakota State, 71-48, Thursday. Junior Maria Martianez recorded her second consecutive double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Saturday's game will be the 21st meeting between the Jackrabbits and the Golden Eagles. SDSU leads the series 14-6.

Noteworthy

South Dakota State is 3-3 on the road this season. It is also 61-22 (.734) all-time in Summit League road games. SDSU has won 12 of its last 19 league road contests.
The Jackrabbits are 246-84 (.745) in all-time games since joining The Summit League in 2007-08.
State has started 4-0 in Summit League just two other times—2012-13 and 2013-14. The best start to a league season was by the 2013-14 team, which won its first eight games.
SDSU head coach Aaron Johnston, who won his 425th game Dec. 20th, enters Saturday's game needing two wins to become The Summit League's leader in league victories with 144.
South Dakota State was ranked second in Graham Hays' Jan. 9 espnW mid-major poll. It was ranked No. 1 in the Nov. 15 poll and second in the Nov. 29 and Dec. 13 polls.
The Jackrabbits have won four of their last five games and seven of their last 10 contests.
n State has held 11 of its 17 opponents to 65-or-fewer points, including three to less than 50.
There have been at least three Jackrabbits scoring in double digits in 11 of 17 games. In the last five games, three Jacks are averaging double figures, led by Madison Guebert's 20.4 ppg.
Macy Miller has scored 20-or-more points seven times. She averages 17.1 points per game.

Jackrabbits in Mid-Major Poll

South Dakota State was ranked third in the Jan. 9 CollegeInsider Mid-Major poll.
SDSU has been ranked in the Mid-Major Top 25 Poll 109 of the last 110 weeks.
The Jackrabbits, who were picked No. 1 in last year's preseason poll, finished 15th at the end of the 2016-17 season.

Summit League Player of the Year candidate Macy Miller is currently The Summit League's and SDSU's leading scorer, averaging 17.1 points per game. Madison Guebert (15.5) is the other Jackrabbit averaging double digits in scoring.
SDSU averages 74.8 points per game and limits foes to 63.9 points per outing.
On the boards, Tagyn Larson and Myah Selland are SDSU's leading rebounders, grabbing 5.4 caroms an outing. The Jackrabbits are outrebounding opponents by 3.6.

Oral Roberts

Oral Roberts, which had been on an 11-game road trip, returns to the Mabee Center for its fifth home game this season. It is 3-1 at home.
ORU finished the nonconference season 8-5 and is 3-1 in Summit League play with wins over North Dakota State, Omaha and Fort Wayne and a loss to Western Illinois.
The Golden Eagles are led offensively by senior Faith Ihim. The forward averages 12.7 points per game. Junior forward Maria Martianez (11.6) and freshman guard Maya Mayberry (10.6) are also averaging double digits.
Oral Roberts averages 66.4 points per game and gives up 57.8.
Martianez averages a Summit League- and team-leading 7.8 rebounds. The Golden Eagles are outrebounding opponents by 6.4 caroms a game. She also dishing 2.5 assists per game.
Sophomore guard Sarah Garvie is the ORU's top 3-point threat, sinking 36.2 percent (38-105) of her shots.
Oral Roberts has six players averaging five-or-more points and nine 10-or-more minutes per game.
The Golden Eagles are shooting 45.4 percent from the field, 32.7 percent from 3-point range and 64.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Breaking Down the Oral Roberts Series

Saturday's game will be the 21st meeting between SDSU and Oral Roberts—a series that began when the Jackrabbits joined The Summit League at the start of the 2007-08 season.
The Jackrabbits lead the series 14-6 and have won the last nine games.
Last year, State swept the regular-season series, winning the first meeting Jan. 14, 78-57, in Tulsa, Okla., and 82-35 Feb. 8 in Brookings. In The Summit League tournament, SDSU won 65-50.
The teams split the first series in 2007-08 before the Jackrabbits won four in a row, including a 77-49 win at the 2009 Summit League Championship.
Oral Robert swept the 2009-10 regular-season games, but SDSU upset top-ranked ORU in the league championship, 79-75 in overtime. The Jacks were leading 78-75 in the final 10 seconds of overtime when Kristin Rotert stripped Kevi Luper of the ball and sank one of two free throws to seal the victory and send SDSU to its second consecutive NCAA Tournament.
The Golden Eagles won the next three games in the series before the Jackrabbits began its current nine-game winning streak.
In eight games against ORU, Ellie Thompson averages 11.3 points and 5.4 rebounds while in five games Macy Miller and Madison Guebert average 14.0 and 12.8 points per game, respectively.
