After winning its semifinal game Monday, the No. 1 seed South Dakota State women's basketball team (25-6) takes on No. 2 seed South Dakota (28-4) Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the championship game of The Summit League Championship at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls.

If the Jackrabbits win Tuesday, it will be their ninth Summit League championship title in 11 years.

Summit League Championship
- South Dakota State is the No. 1 seed for the fifth time (2009, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2019) in The Summit League Championship. It sports a 27-2 (.931) championship record, the best winning percentage among current league members.
- It has won at least one tournament game in 10 of 11 Summit League Championships it has been eligible for. The Jackrabbits have won eight tournament titles (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2018), the most in league history.
- SDSU plays in its ninth title game and has won as the top seed (2009, 2012, 2013), second seed (2015, 2016, 2018) and third seed (2010, 2011).
- The Jackrabbits are 2-1 against No. 2 seeds, 4-1 vs. the Coyotes in the championship and 8-0 in title games.

History in Sioux Falls
- The Summit League Championship is held at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls for the fifth time. SDSU won the 2015, 2016 and 2018 titles as the No. 2 seed, defeating top-seeded South Dakota, 72-57, in 2015, 61-55 in 2016 and 65-50 in 2018 in the facility.
- The championship was held in the Sioux Falls Arena for the first six years, starting in 2009. The Jackrabbits were 15-1 in that arena.

Five Top Storylines
South Dakota: South Dakota advanced to the championship final with an 84-61 win over No. 6 seed North Dakota Monday. SDSU is 2-3 against South Dakota in the last five games, but holds a 57-30 all-time series advantage. State has two regular-season sweeps of the Coyotes since they joined The Summit League in 2011-12. The teams have played each other in postseason five of the last six years and met in the championship game four times. The Coyotes beat the Jackrabbits twice in regular season in 2016, 2017 and 2018, but SDSU won the championship title each year. The Jacks also won the 2015 title after splitting the regular-season games.

Defense: Defense has been a key element in the Jackrabbits' success, as the team is 22-1 when holding an opponent to 70 points-or-less, including 13-0 in Summit League-only play. State has limited 19 of its 31 opponents to 65-or-fewer points, including 10 to 50 or less. Nineteen of 30 opponents were limited to single-digit scoring quarters, including 12 quarters against league teams.
Offense: SDSU head coach
Aaron Johnston thinks this year's team is his most offensive-minded squad. The Jackrabbits lead The Summit League in league-only scoring offense (83.4) and are second in overall games (79.9). In the last five games, the Jackrabbits are averaging 89.6 points per game and giving up just 62.6 an outing. SDSU ranks 14th in scoring offense and 10th in scoring margin (17.7) in the NCAA.
Assists: State is one of the top teams in the NCAA and The Summit League with 569 assists, 18.4 assists per game and a 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio. It also ranks in the NCAA:
           - 6th, assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4);
           - 8th, assists per game (18.4); and
           - 11th, assists (569).
- Leading the way are Macy Miller and Rylie Cascio Jensen. They are dishing 3.5 and 3.0 assists per game, respectively, this season. Miller ranks fourth and Cascio Jensen fifth in The Summit League.
- Four Jackrabbits rank in the top 15 in assists per game.
- In assist-to-turnover ratio, Cascio Jensen is first (2.6) and Miller second (2.4). Cascio Jensen ranks 23rd and Miller is 29th in the NCAA in assist-to-turnover ratio.
Balanced Scoring: The Jackrabbits are known for balanced scoring, playing nine players at least 10 minutes per game. At least three Jackrabbits have scored in double digits in 29 of 31 games. Additionally, they have had four-or-more players scoring in double figures in eight games and five-or-more three times.
- All five starters have led State in scoring, including a team-best 16 times by Macy Miller. All five starters are also shooting 40 percent-or-higher, led by Tagyn Larson's 56.7 shooting percentage.
