NEWTON, Kan. -- The South Dakota State men's golf team finished tied for second after completing the final two rounds of the Summit League Championship, Monday.
The Jackrabbits shot an 889 (290-301-298) at the par-72, 6,931-yard Sand Creek Station Golf Course. Denver won the event, shooting an 874 while there was a four-way tie atop the 45-player field, each shooting 3-over par (219).
Jones Comerford had a strong showing in the final two rounds to finish tied for eighth at 6-over, firing a 222 (76-75-71).
Jacob Otta shot a 223 (73-75-75) to finish seven-over in a tie for 12th.
Jared Nicolls finished tied for 25th at 11-over (68-75-84=227).
Alejandro Perazzo placed 30th, shooting a 12-over-par 228 (73-76-79).
Jonah Dohrer shot a 230 (80-77-73) to finish tied for 32nd at 14-over.

- With his first-round score of 68, Jared Nicolls tied the second lowest single round score in program history at the Summit League Championship.
- The team's round-one score of 290 was the fifth lowest round score in school history at the event.
- The men's 889 total score also ranked among the best in program history, tying for fourth lowest at the event.
