Otta paces Jacks at Island Resort Intercollegiate

HARRIS, Mich. – The South Dakota State men's golf team sits in eighth place after the initial 36 holes of the Island Resort Intercollegiate, hosted by the Jackrabbits, on Sunday.

The event is being held at the Sage Run Golf Club, which is a 72-par, 7,375-yard course.

As a team, SDSU carded rounds of 299 (+11) and 297 (+11) for a two round total of 596 (+20).
Jacob Otta tallied an eagle on the par-5, hole three, in the first round. The senior paces the Jacks and is tied for 27th after carding rounds of 74 (+2) and 73 (+1).

Following Otta is the followed by the pair of Jack Tanner and Jones Comerford, who each posted a total of 151 (+7) in the two rounds, tying for 46th.

Matthew Schaefer and Harry Duggan factored into the teams score in a round a piece. Schaefer carded a first round score of 78 (+6) and is tied for 55th overall, while Duggan held the second-best score in round two for the Jacks, registering a 74 (+2). The sophomore is tied for 50th headed into the final round on Monday.
