IOWA CITY, Iowa – The South Dakota State men's golf team is tied for eighth after the first day of play at the Hawkeye Invitational.

The Jackrabbits posted team scores of 298 and 295 for a 36-hole total of 593 (+17). Host team, Iowa, leads the 12-team field at 18-under 558. Kansas is in second with 564 (-12) and Marquette rounds out the top three with 571 (-5).

Jack Tanner paces the Jacks tied for 15
th with a 36-hole score of 144 (E). The sophomore shot a 3-over 75 in the first round before recording six birdies in round two, carding a score of 3-under 69.

James Temple is tied for 27
th after carding scores of 72 and 75 to finish the first day of play with 3-over 147.
Will Frazier posted 75's in back-to-back rounds to tie for 42
nd with 150 (+6).
