Summit League Release

SIOUX FALLS - Leah Hansen was named the Summit League's Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week in announcement by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Hansen has now produced back-to-back meet victories in the past two weeks at both the Augustana Twilight (Sept. 3) and now the SDSU Classic (last Friday - Sept. 10).

Hansen ran away from the field at the SDSU Classic by roughly 15 seconds before second place crossed the line. Hansen's time was a new personal best of 18 seconds as she paced her way to sub-18 minute 5K (17:56.91).

This is the first cross country weekly honor Hansen has received in her collegiate career thus far.

UP NEXT
Hansen and the Jackrabbits will travel to Falcon Heights, Minnesota, for the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 24, with races scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
