HARRIS, Mich. --- South Dakota State University Men's Golf placed sixth at the Island Resort Intercollegiate as

The Jackrabbits tallied a total of 24-over-par that put them in sixth on the leaderboard out of the ten teams that made the trip to Michigan for the Labor Day tournament. SDSU sat in fourth place (+8) after play concluded Sunday.
Â
Schaefer navigated his way around Sage Run Golf Club quite well as he carded two below par rounds (-1, -2) Sunday. He did end up shooting a 75 (+3) Monday, but still claimed fifth overall and was the first Jackrabbit listed on the leaderboard. Schaefer rolled in 10 birdies for the tourney, three behind the leader.
Â
Liam Georgiadis snuck inside the top ten as the second best Jack across the three rounds with a score of +3. Georgiadis was very steady on Sunday as he played even golf for the first two rounds before carding a 75 (+3), Monday.
Jonah Dohrer had an up and down first round although was able to card an opening 72 (E). Dohrer came back in the second round to close out Sunday with a 77 (+2). Dohrer performance earned him a spot inside the top 20 places with a tied-for-seventeenth finish.
Â
One of the bigger stories for the Jackrabbits was two of their players
Will Frazier (+8) and
Noah Boraas (+10), who were listed as independent, ended up rounding out the top five scorers for SDSU. Frazier and Boraas were T-21st and T-31st, respectively on the final leaderboard.
