The South Dakota State men's golf team sits in 11th place after Friday's opening round of the Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah. Jack Tanner leads the way for the Jackrabbits following day one and is in a tie for 12th place at -1.
Tanner is followed by Ty Kretz on the leaderboard. He is tied for 25th place at 1-over-par. Tanner parred 15 holes Thursday, the most of any players at the event. Ketz tallied four birdies to lead the Jackrabbits.
Jonah Dohrer, Liam Georgiadis and Harry Duggan also competed for the Jackrabbits on day one.
SDSU will return to the course for another 18 holes Saturday. The teams will tee off at 9:30 AM MT at the Sunbrook Golf Course.
