BOULDER CITY, NEV. - South Dakota State men's golf played the first two rounds of the Jackrabbit Invitational Friday and are in a tie for third place at the Boulder Creek Golf Club. The Jackrabbits are +8 after 36 holes and four shots off first place.
After carding a 298 (+10) in the opening round the, Jacks put together a 286 (-2) on the second 18 holes.
Jack Tanner and
Ty Kretz lead the Jackrabbits with matching 144 (E) scores and are tied for fourth place.
The duo is followed by
Matthew Schaefer and
Liam Georgiadis, who are both +6 (150) and tied for 23rd place.
Jonah Dohrer rounds out the team in 39th with a 152 (+8).
Blake Schaper is golfing individually for South Dakota State. He is in a tie for 17th place with a +5 scorecard.
Noah Boraas (+8),
James Temple (+13) and
Lucas Schaefbauer (+21) are also golfing individually for the Jackrabbits.
Chattanooga in in first place in the team standings with a three-shot lead over Texas State. Paul Conory of Chattanooga tops the player leaderboard at -7, a five-stroke lead over Griffin Parker of Northern Iowa.
The Jackrabbits will play the final 18 holes of the tournament Saturday starting at 7 a.m. PT.
