IOWA CITY, Iowa - The South Dakota State men's golf team is in seventh place after two rounds of the Hawkeye Invitational at the Finkbine Golf Course. Jack Tanner is in 15th place to lead the Jackrabbits.
SDSU posted a team score of 592 (+16) after two rounds and his four shots off fifth place.
Tanner carries a 146 (+2) through 36 holes with eight birdies. Noah Boraas is one stroke behind Tanner in 20th place and a 147 (+3). Jonah Dohrer carded a 149 (+5), Matthew Schaefer has a 150 (+6) and Ty Kretz has a 154 (+10).
No. 28 Kansas leads the tournament with a 566 (-10) team score. Host Iowa is eight shots behind at 574 (-2). Ben Sigel of Kansas and Garret Tighe of Iowa are tied at the top of the leaderboard with matching 138 (-6) scores.
The Jackrabbits will return to the course for the final round Sunday morning.
