NEWTON, Kansas - South Dakota State golf slipped one spot to fourth place Monday during the second round of the Summit League Championship.
Jack Tanner is in fifth place to pace the Jacks.
The Jackrabbits battled windy, rainy conditions to record a 297 (+9) team score Monday. With a 579 (+3) overall score, SDSU trails Oral Roberts by six shots, North Dakota State by 14 and Denver by 17.
Tanner carded a 74 (+2) on the second 18 holes. He shot 2-under on the back nine holes and collected an eagle, moving him as high as first place, before five bogeys on the front nine pushed him to 2-over. Tanner is 3-under overall (141) and only one shot out of third place. North Dakota State's Nate Deziel leads the field at -11 (133).
Liam Georgiadis used six birdies to climb into a three-way tie for sixth place after round two. He matched his Monday score of 71 (-1) and sits 2-under with one round remaining.
Matthew Schaefer is in a tie for 21st (147, +3),
Ty Kretz is tied for 26th (139, +5) and
Jonah Dohrer is in a tie for 40th (154, +10) to round out the SDSU scoring.
The final round of the Summit League Tournament will tee off at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
