South Dakota State University had six teams earn a perfect NCAA Academic Progress Rate during the 2020-21 academic year as released by the NCAA national office last week.
Men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, volleyball and women's basketball each achieved a perfect score of 1,000. Additionally, women's golf, volleyball and women's basketball were awarded perfect multiyear scores.
The recently released data reflects single-year scores for the 2020-21 school year and four-year scores from 2017-18 to 2020-21.
The NCAA uses Academic Progress Rates to track academic progress and eligibiltiy of scholarship student-athletes using a simple and consistent formula. Each term, scholarship student-athletes can earn one point for remaining eligible and one point for staying in school or graduating.
