VERONA, Wis. - The South Dakota State men's golf team played the final round of the Badger Invitational Tuesday at University Ridge Golf Course.
The Jackrabbits were led by
Matthew Schaefer, who finished in a tie for 41st place at 2-over. The senior entered Tuesday in a tie for 45th place and moved four spots up the leaderboard following an even-par 72 on his last 18 holes.
Blake Schaper was +3 on the day and finished the tournament at 8-over. He tied for 72nd place on the final leaderboard.
Jonah Dohrer ended +10,
Ty Kretz was one shot back at +11 and
Lucas Schaefbauer rounded out the lineup at +15.
As a team, SDSU finished in 18th place with a 606 (+30) final scorecard.
In the individual portion of the Wisconsin tournament,
Tyler Seeling finished 27th. The freshman was +20 over the 36-hole event.Â
Texas A&M won the tournament at 20-under-par. Northern Illinois' Ben Sluzas earned medalist honors with a 135 (-9).Â
UP NEXT
The Jackrabbits will compete in the Ram Masters Invitational next Monday and Tuesday in Fort Collins, Colorado.
