South Dakota State enters the Summit League Tournament as the No. 1 seed and will take on either No. 8 St. Thomas or No. 9 Western Illinois, depending on the result of their Friday afternoon contest.
SDSU finished the conference season with an 18-0 record, going unbeaten for the second time in three years. The Jacks' undefeated conference record is the fourth in the history of the Summit League and they are the first team to go 18-0 since 1993-94. SDSU is 25-5 overall.
St. Thomas went 7-11 in the Summit season and is 12-16 overall ahead of Friday's first-round game.
Western Illinois went 5-13 in conference action. The Leathernecks enter the tournament 10-19 overall.
KEY STORYLINES
- South Dakota State enters the Summit League Tournament 25-5 on the year and wrapped the conference regular season with an 18-0 mark.

- Summit League Player of the Year Myah Selland leads the Jacks in scoring with 16.1 points per game and averages more than six rebounds, which ranks second. This is the second Player of the Year honor of Selland's career.
- Haleigh Timmer and Paiton Burckhard also average double figures - 11.8 PPG and 10.9 PPG. Paige Meyer is just behind them with 9.6 PPG.
- Haleigh Timmer has scored at least 10 points in every game of January and February. She's averaging more than 14 points in 2023.
- Kallie Theisen, the Summit League Sixth Woman of the Year, comes off the bench to contribute six points, six rebounds and one block per game.
- South Dakota State ranks eighth in the NCAA in field goal percentage (.473) and rebounding margin (10.4), 10th in scoring margin (17.7), and 14th in assist/turnover ratio (1.26) and defensive rebounds per game (29.7).
