South Dakota State's
Ty Kretz has been named to the All-Summit League Men's Golf Second Team the conference office announced Friday. A vote of the league's 10 head coaches determined two teams of five, which also included three repeat all-league honorees.
Kretz averaged 73 strokes per round this season to lead the Jacks. He posted two top-10 finishes in his sophomore campaign, including winning medalist honors at the Duel at the Bluffs. At the Duel, Kretz fired a program-best 36-hole score of 131 (-13) while carding a 65 (-7) single round, which matches the best 18 hole score in program history. In October, Kretz placed third with a 218 (+2) final tally at the Iowa Fall Classic. Kretz's best 54-hole score of the year was a 214 (+1) at the GCU Invitational in March.
North Dakota State landed five players between the first and second teams. This marks the first time since 2015 that a team had five golfers encompass the first and second teams. The full list of all-conference recipients is below.
Kretz and the Jackrabbits squad will compete at the Summit League Championship Sunday-Tuesday in Lincoln, Nebraska.
