NEW ORLEANS – South Dakota State cross country earned national academic recognitions, including two individual honors, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced.
Both the men's and women's teams were recognized as USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams, which honors squads with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
The Jackrabbit women posted a 3.591 team GPA while the men had a cumulative GPA of 3.488.
Daniel Burkhalter and Leah Hisken were also named 2023 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Academic Athletes, respectively. This was Hisken's fourth individual honor from the USTFCCCA and Burkhalter's first.
