COLUMBUS, Ohio - The South Dakota state men's golf team is tied for second place following the opening 18 holes of the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, which was played Friday at the Ohio State Golf Course.
Tyler Seeling fired a career-best 4-under round Friday and is the co-leader.
Seeling tallied one of three total eagles on the day and added five birdies for a 67 (-4). He is tied with Dayton's Colin O'Rourke at the top of the leaderboard.
SDSU posted a 289 (+5) team score and is tied with Purdue for second place. The Jacks are only two shots behind Kent State's first place.
Luke Honner started the day with a par on all but one hole during the front nine, then was even on the back nine to finish the day one over. He is tied for 14th place.
Blake Schaper is tied for 32nd place with a 3-over scorecard (74).
Bryson Mercier is tied for 57th (76, +5) and
Ty Kretz is tied for 96th place (79, +8).
UP NEXT
The second round of the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate will be played in two waves Saturday. The Jackrabbits are in the afternoon wave, which tees off at noon.
