HARRIS, Mich. - The South Dakota State men's golf team opens the 2024-25 season by hosting the Island Resort Intercollegiate Sunday and Monday at Sage Run Golf Club.
Bryson Mercier will play in the No. 1 spot for the Jackrabbits, followed by returners Ty Kretz, Tyler Seeling, Blake Schaper and Marco Lin. Newcomers Jake Olson, Drew Teeter and Jack Randall will compete as individuals.
Kretz and Mercier are the Jackrabbits' top returners from last season, averaging 72.5 and 72.8 strokes per round, respectively, in 2023-24. Those marks were the fourth and fifth best single-season averages in program history.
LAST TIME OUT
South Dakota State wrapped the 2023-24 season with a runner-up finish at the Summit League Championships.
Runner-up is SDSU's best championships finish since 2019 and the fourth overall top-two finish at the Summit League Championships. The five competing Jackrabbits tallied individual scores that rank in the top-12 all-time for a Jackrabbit at the Summit League Championships.

The Jackrabbits continue on to the Nebraska GIT-R-DONE Invitational September 23-24 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
