PHOENIX, Ariz. – The South Dakota State men's golf team is in eighth place after the first round of the Loyola Intercollegiate hosted by Loyola Maryland, which was played Sunday.
Bryson Mercier and
Drew Teeter are pacing the Jacks with matching -1 scorecards. They are tied for 24th place.
Ty Adkins is in 38th place with an even-par tally.
Tyler Seeling is one shot back from Adkins in 53rd place at +1.
Jacob Wilson tallied two eagles on the day but is +2 after 18 holes, putting him in 64th place.
As a team, SDSU is -1 after one round. The Jackrabbits tallied 19 birdies as a team, six of which came from Mercier.
Host Loyola and Richmond are tied at 8-under to lead the field. Summit League foes North Dakota State and Omaha are just behind the Jackrabbits in ninth and tenth place, respectively.
NOTES
- SDSU tied for second-best on par-3 holes and are fourth on par-5 holes. The Jackrabbits averaged 3.20 shots per par-3 hole and 4.45 shots per par-5 hole.
- Jacob Wilson tallied two eagles, tied for most of all participating players.
UP NEXT
The second round of the Loyola Intercollegiate will be played Monday. The final round is set for Tuesday.
