TULSA, Okla.—Three Jackrabbits scored in double figures as the South Dakota State women's basketball team defeated Oral Roberts 66-52 Friday night in Summit League action at the Mabee Center.
The SDSU (17-8, 8-4) win snapped the Golden Eagles' three-game winning streak and seven-game home winning streak.
Freshman Macy Miller (Mitchell) led the Jacks with a team-high 18 points and 3 assists. Senior Mariah Clarin (Princeton, Minn.) recorded 14 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and tied her career high with 4 blocks. Senior Megan Waytashek (Lino Lakes, Minn.) chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds.
Vicky McIntyre led Oral Roberts (13-13, 7-6) with 27 points and 13 rebounds.
South Dakota State led 39-26 at halftime after scoring the last seven points of the half. Oral Roberts used a 9-5 run to open the second half and cut the Jacks' lead to nine points, 44-35, at 14:05.
With 6:51 to play, the Jackrabbits pushed their lead to 14 points, 55-41, when Clarin, Miller and Waytashek combine to score six-straight points.
The Golden Eagles again cut SDSU's lead to nine points, 55-46, with just over six minutes to play, but Miller scored 9 of the Jacks' final 12 points to secure the win.
For the second time this year, the Jackrabbits were perfect from the free-throw line, going 12 for 12. They set the school record for free-throw percentage in a game in the season opener, making all 16 of their foul shots vs. BYU Nov. 14 in Frost Arena.
South Dakota State concludes its last regular-season road swing Feb. 18 when it travels to Omaha, Neb., for a 7 p.m. game vs. the Mavericks.
