IOWA CITY, Iowa—
Emily Donnay earned all-region honors and
Rachel King provided an outstanding performance of her own to lead the South Dakota State women's cross country team to a 13
th-place finish Friday morning at the NCAA Midwest Region Championships in Iowa City, Iowa.
"One of the goals was to have two all-region performers," said head coach
Rod DeHaven. "Obviously, we barely missed that, but I think Emily [Donnay] and Rachel [King] took next step. Not just today, but all year long. Now they realize what it takes and how good they can really be. The team ran smart today, and it was probably our best race of the season. I am proud of their effort, and I think that they should be proud of their effort as well."
SDSU finished with 396 points for 13
th place. Donnay led the way for the Jackrabbits, finishing in a 6K personal-best 20:48.0 for 23
rd place. King wasn't far behind, also finishing with a personal-best time of 20:49.2 for 26
