VERMILLION, S.D — Senior
Ashley Beaner finished her collegiate career leading South Dakota State in a three-set loss, 25-11, 25-15 and 25-23, to South Dakota Saturday evening in The Summit League action in front of 683 fans in the Sports Center.

The Jackrabbits end the season 5-23 overall and 4-12 in league play while the Coyotes win a share of The Summit League regular season title with records of 24-6 and 13-3.

Beaner recorded 12 kills and freshman
Makenzie Hennen added six kills. Sophomore
Mattison Munger posted a double-double with 29 set assists and 13 digs. Junior
Ellie Benson had a team-high 14 digs.

Elizabeth Loschen led South Dakota with 14 kills. Audrey Reeg added 10 kills and 11 digs.

In the first set, the Jackrabbits were within three points when freshman
Ashlynn Smith registered a kill to make it 11-8. USD responded with a 14-3 run to win the set.

The Jackrabbits took an 11-9 lead in the second set when the Coyotes committed a pair of attack errors and Beaner and sophomore
Sierra Peterson registered back-to-back blocks. After the teams traded kills, USD used a 10-1 run to take a 20-13 lead. South Dakota outscored the Jacks 5-2 to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

USD had a 9-6 lead before Hennen recorded a kill and a solo block to pull within one. After a Coyote kill, Smith and Beaner registered kills and Smith had a solo stop to take an 11-10 lead. The Jacks pushed their lead to 13-11 on a USD error.

The teams were tied eight times the rest of the set until a Jackrabbit attack error and a USD block won the set and match for South Dakota.
