The seven-time Summit League Tournament champion South Dakota State women's basketball team begins its 10th season of league play Wednesday when it travels to Fargo, N.D., for a 7 p.m. game vs. longtime rival North Dakota State in the Scheels Center.
SDSU won its fourth true road game of the season with a 78-58 victory at Wichita State Dec. 21. Junior
Ellie Thompson led four in double digits in scoring with a game-high 23 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field.
North Dakota State finished its nonconference schedule 2-11 and enters the game on a two-game losing streak after losing to UT Rio Grande Valley and UC Santa Barbara in the UTRGV Battle of the Border Dec. 19-20 in Texas.
Wednesday's game is the 83rd meeting between the Jackrabbits and the Bison. State leads the all-time series, 44-38, and has won the last three outings and 10 of its last 11 games in Fargo.

- South Dakota State sports a 4-2 road record, winning at Iowa, Northern Iowa, North Dakota and Wichita State and falling at then-No. 13/12 Oklahoma and at then-No. 8/8 Louisville.
