DENVER—Sophomore
Madison Guebert scored a career-high 32 points to lead the South Dakota State women's basketball team to a 72-63 win at Denver Wednesday night in front of 266 fans in Magness Arena.

Guebert's 32 points were the 16
th-most points in school history. She was 11 of 12 from the field, 4 of 5 from 3-point range and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line. Guebert also had a personal-best five assists.

Junior
Ellie Thompson recorded her second 20-plus point game of the season with 22 points. She added eight rebounds and a pair of blocks. Senior
Kerri Young had eight points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Jackrabbits (15-4, 6-1).

Denver, 4-15, 1-5, was led by Lauren Loven's 20 points.

The Jackrabbits used a 14-2 run midway through the second quarter to take their largest lead of the half, 31-20. Guebert sank two of her three 3-pointers in the half during the stretch.

Denver cut SDSU's lead to five, 33-28, after Loven hit her third 3-pointer to cap an 8-2 run. Guebert gave the Jackrabbits a 36-28 lead with her third 3-pointer with three seconds left in the half.

South Dakota State opened the third quarter with an 11-0 run fueled by six-straight points by Thompson. The Jacks' largest lead, 52-33, came on a Thompson layup with 3:42 to play in the quarter.

Loven hit back-to-back 3-pointers with 4:38 left in the game to cut the Jackrabbits' lead to nine points, 60-51. The freshman then hit another long-range shot to pull Denver within eight, 68-60, with 38 seconds left, but junior
Alexis Alexander converted a layup and Guebert sealed the win at the free-throw line.

- Macy Miller was the last Jackrabbit to score 30-plus points when she scored 31 points vs. Arkansas Nov. 18, 2015.
- The last Jackrabbits to score 20-plus points in the same game was Kerri Young (27) and Sydney Palmer (20) vs. Omaha Jan. 7.
- Madison Guebert recorded her sixth 20-plus point game tonight.
- Guebert sank four 3-pointers, making her 15 short of moving onto the SDSU career 3-point field goals list.
