After finishing the first half of The Summit League season 7-1, the South Dakota State women's basketball team begins the second portion of its league schedule Saturday when it meets a familiar opponent in Omaha at 2 p.m. in Baxter Arena.

SDSU is in a two-way tie for first in The Summit League standings at 7-1 and with a 16-4 overall record.

Omaha has a 3-5 league record and is 10-11 overall. It had its two-game winning streak snapped Wednesday, losing at Fort Wayne, 65-62. The Mavericks are tied for fifth in the league standings with Oral Roberts and North Dakota State.

Saturday's game is the 69th meeting between the Jackrabbits and the Mavericks. State leads the all-time series, 39-29, has won the last 12 games in the series and is 16-13 at Omaha, winning the last six.

- South Dakota State has a six-game winning streak, the longest since winning eight in a row between Jan. 21 and Feb. 18, 2016. The streak ranks 21st in the NCAA.

- Saturday's game is the 69th meeting between SDSU and Omaha. The Jackrabbits lead the series 39-29 after the Jackrabbits beat the Mavericks, 76-64, in Frost Arena Jan. 7.
- The series started in 1976-77 with the Mavericks winning 12 of the first 13 games. The Jackrabbits broke into the win column with an 82-75 overtime victory Feb. 1, 1979, and dominated the series late in the Division II era when SDSU and UNO were members of the North Central Conference.Â
- SDSU won 16 of the 20 meetings between the 1992-93 and 2003-04 seasons. Since then, the Jacks have beaten Omaha 12 times, including the last six times in Omaha.
