In the midst of a three-game homestand, the South Dakota State women's basketball team plays Omaha Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the friendly confines of Frost Arena.

Saturday's game will be broadcast live on the Midco Sports Network with Tom Nieman (play-by-play) and Brad Newitt (color). The game can also be heard live on The Jackrabbit Sports Network with Brad Peterson on WNAX 570 AM.

SDSU is tied for second in the Summit League standings with records of 11-4 overall and 2-1 in league play. It is also ranked ninth in the latest College Insider Mid-Major poll.

The Jackrabbits won their first home Summit League game, defeating Fort Wayne, 73-51, Thursday.

Omaha won its first The Summit League game, defeating IUPUI, 64-44, Thursday. The Mavericks are 8-7 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Saturday's game is the 68th meeting between the Jackrabbits and the Mavericks. State leads the all-time series, 38-29, has won the last 14 games in the series and is 21-12 in Frost Arena vs. UNO.

- SDSU is 461-116 (.798) all-time in home games, including 70-7 (.909) in home Summit League games. It has won its last seven home league games and is 39-2 (.951) in the last five seasons.
- State has won 412 of its last 500 home encounters, good for a remarkable .824 winning percentage.
- The Jackrabbits are 232-81 (.741) in all-time games since joining The Summit League in 2007-08.
- The Jacks have won 40 of their last 48 in league games, dating to a 63-57 win over IUPUI Jan. 9, 2014.

- UNO is led offensively by senior Mikaela Shaw. The forward is averaging 15.8 points per game. Omaha averages 69.2 points per game.
- Senior transfer Michaela Dapprich is also averaging double digits, scoring 11.5 points per game.
- Shaw averages a team-leading 8.1 rebounds. The Mavs are outrebounding opponents by 5.5 caroms a game.
- Shaw is also dishing 4.0 assists per game. Three others have 30-or-more assists.
- Junior guard Remy Davenport is Omaha's top 3-point threat, sinking 30 3-pointers and shooting 34.5 percent.Â

Breaking Down the Omaha Series
- Saturday's game is the 68th meeting between SDSU and Omaha. The Jackrabbits lead the series 38-29 after beating the Mavericks three times last year, including in The Summit League Tournament, 76-60.
- The series started in 1976-77 with the Mavericks winning 12 of the first 13 games. The Jackrabbits broke into the win column with an 82-75 overtime victory Feb. 1, 1979, and dominated the series late in the Division II era when SDSU and UNO were members of the North Central Conference.Â
- SDSU won 17 of the 21 meetings between the 1992-93 and 2003-04 seasons. Since then, the Jacks have beaten Omaha 14 times, including the last seven times in Frost Arena.
