The South Dakota State women's basketball team used a pair of runs in the second half to hold off Northern State, 71-59, in an exhibition game Thursday night in front of 1,542 fans at Frost Arena.
The Jackrabbits are now 22-0 all-time in exhibition games since moving to the NCAA Division I level.
Junior
Madison Guebert's 17 points led SDSU. Senior
Ellie Thompson had 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Junior
Macy Miller added 12 points and senior
Chynna Stevens 11 points and seven rebounds. Freshman
Tylee Irwin scored 10 points off the bench.
Northern State's Jill Conrad had a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds while Miranda Ristau registered a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Turning Points
After a 30-30 tie at halftime, the Jackrabbits and Wolves were no more than three points apart until State finished the third quarter on an 8-2 run, fueled by an Irwin 3-point field goal, for a 50-44 lead.
South Dakota State took its largest lead, 62-50 with 3:47 left in the game, when Guebert scored four consecutive points to start an 8-2 run.

Stevens scored six of her 11 points in the final 3:47 to keep the Jackrabbits ahead by 10-or-more points.
Notes
- Freshman Myah Selland dished a team-high four assists while Stevens had a pair of blocks.
