The South Dakota State women's basketball team attempts to extend its three-game win streak Saturday when it plays at IUPUI at 2 p.m. in The Jungle.

The Jackrabbits were ranked No. 3 in Tuesday's CollegeInsider Mid-Major poll while the Jags are receiving votes.

SDSU is first in The Summit League standings at 10-2 and is 19-5 overall.

The Jackrabbits improved to 11-1 and 7-0 in Frost Arena Wednesday after Kerri Young and Clarissa Ober led four players in double figures with a game-high 18 points. Ober added a career-high tying 15 rebounds in an 82-35 win over Oral Roberts.

IUPUI improved to 18-7 overall and 8-4 in The Summit League with a 67-45 win at Denver Wednesday. The Jaguars are fourth in the league standings.

IUPUI is first (56.1) and SDSU second (57.8) in The Summit League-only games in scoring defense.

Saturday's game is the 22nd meeting between the Jackrabbits and the Jaguars. State leads the all-time series, 16-5, has won 8 of the last 13 games in the series and is 5-4 in The Jungle.

Noteworthy

With a win Saturday, the Jackrabbits will record their 20th overall and sixth consecutive 20-win season.
SDSU also has double-digit Summit League victories in all 10 seasons in the league.
Senior Clarissa Ober is averaging a double-double in the last five games, registering 13.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game and three others are in double figures in scoring.
Kerri Young, Madison Guebert and Ellie Thompson have all scored 10-or-more points in at least 11 of the 12 Summit League games.
The Jackrabbits have limited their last five opponents to 55.6 points per game, outscoring them by 19.8 point per outing and outrebounding their foes by 5.4 caroms.
South Dakota State sports a 6-4 overall road record
and is 3-2 in Summit League play. The Jacks won at Denver, Oral Roberts and North Dakota State, but lost at South Dakota and Omaha.
South Dakota State is 59-20 (.746) all-time in Summit League road games and has won 10 of its last 15 road contests. Last year, it went 6-2 in league road contests.
The Jackrabbits are 241-82 (.746) in all-time games since joining The Summit League in 2007-08.
The Jacks have won 48 of their last 57 league games, dating to a 63-57 win over IUPUI Jan. 9, 2014.
State swept regular-season series with North Dakota State and Oral Roberts. It split series with Omaha and South Dakota.
Of its nine Summit League opponents in the last 10 years, SDSU has five losses to IUPUI, four to South Dakota, two to North Dakota State and one each to Denver, Fort Wayne, Omaha and Western Illinois. The most losses have been to Oral Roberts (6).
SDSU head coach Aaron Johnston, who won his 400th game Dec. 11, enters Saturday's game with a 411-138 (.750) overall record and a 137-27 (.835) league mark.

Jackrabbits in Mid-Major Poll

After spending the first four weeks of the season atop the CollegeInsider Mid-Major poll, South Dakota State was third in Tuesday's poll.
SDSU has been ranked in the Mid-Major Top 25 Poll 95 of the last 96 weeks.
With its 26 first-place votes in the preseason poll, SDSU is the first team in The Summit League history to earn a top national preseason ranking.
The Jackrabbits were ranked first in the final 2015-16 poll, their highest-ever ranking.

A Quick Glance at South Dakota State

Seventeenth-year head coach Aaron Johnston's probable starters for the eighth consecutive game are:

            Madison Guebert, guard
            Kerri Young, guard
            Ellie Thompson, forward
            Clarissa Ober, center

The starting lineup is 8-2 overall and 6-1 in league play this season.
SDSU has had three starting lineups after the Jackrabbits' leading scoring Macy Miller (Dec. 9) and leading rebounder Clarissa Ober (Dec. 21, return Jan. 11) suffered injuries that forced them from the starting five.
Guebert is currently SDSU's leading scorer, averaging 15.0 points per game. Young (13.3) and Thompson (13.0) are the other Jacks averaging double digits in scoring.
SDSU averages 70.3 points per game. Four Jackrabbits have led the team in scoring this season.
State has held 18 of its 24 opponents to 65-or-fewer points, including seven to less than 50.
There have been at least three Jackrabbits scoring in double digits in 18 of 24 games.
On the boards, Ober is SDSU's leading rebounder, grabbing 7.5 caroms an outing. The Jackrabbits are outrebounding opponents by 4.1 caroms.
The Jackrabbits' top 3-point threat is Guebert, who is sinking 3.0 treys per game and shooting 43.1 percent.
Young is the Jacks' top playmaker, dishing 3.2 assists per game.
The Jacks have a plus-1.1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
SDSU is shooting 43.9 percent from the field, 33.1 percent from 3-point range and 74.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Glance at IUPUI

IUPUI is 4-1 in its last five games and enters Saturday's game winning seven of its last eight games.
The Jaguars are 10-2 overall and 5-0 in the league in home games. They last lost at home was Dec. 10, 2016, to Ohio.
IUPUI is led offensively by junior Danielle Lawrence. The guard is averaging 16.0 points per game. The Jaguars are averaging 67.0 points per game.
Senior forward Mikale Rogers is also averaging double digits, scoring 13.5 points per game.
Rogers averages a team-leading 7.5 rebounds. The Jags are outrebounding opponents by 0.7 caroms a game.
Lawrence is also dishing 2.5 assists per game. Three others have 50-or-more assists.
Sophomore guard Sydney Hall is IUPUI's top 3-point threat, sinking 52 3-pointers and shooting 43.3 percent.
IUPUI has six players averaging 5-or-more points and eight averaging 10-or-more minutes per game.
The Jaguars are shooting 43.5 percent from the field, 39.1 percent from 3-point range and 71.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Breaking Down the IUPUI Series

Saturday's game will be the 22nd meeting between SDSU and IUPUI. The Jacks lead the series 16-5 and have won 8 of the last 13 meetings. State is 5-4 all-time in Indianapolis, but has lost its last four games in The Jungle.
The five losses to IUPUI have been by a combined 16 points with the last two by one point each.
The Jackrabbits won the first meeting of 2016-17 with a 68-49 victory Jan. 12 in Frost Arena.
