With a potential Summit League regular-season title, win streaks, state bragging rights and a Showdown Series point on the line, the South Dakota State women's basketball team plays in-state rival South Dakota Thursday. Tipoff for the South Dakota Showdown Series game, presented by South Dakota Corn, is at 7 p.m. in the friendly confines of Frost Arena.

Tom Nieman will call the play-by-play, Brad Newitt will provide the color commentary and Elaina Lanson will be reporting from the sidelines for the Midco Sports Network. The game can also be heard live on The Jackrabbit Sports Network with Brad Peterson on WNAX 570 AM.

The Jackrabbits are 16-4 overall and 5-0 in The Summit League and are just one of two teams—South Dakota—still undefeated in league play.

SDSU won its seventh consecutive home game Jan. 20, defeating Western Illinois, 84-48. Summit League Player of the Year candidate
Macy Miller tied a career high by netting a season- and game-high 31 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field.

South Dakota is 15-5 overall and 6-0 in league play. The Coyotes defeated Omaha, 70-46, Jan. 20. Four USD players scored in double figures led by Allison Arens' 18 points.

Thursday's game will be the 83rd meeting between the Jackrabbits and the Coyotes. SDSU leads the series 56-26 and is 29-9 in Frost Arena.
South Daktoa Showdown Series
The South Dakota Showdown Series, presented by South Dakota Corn, tracks head-to-head match-ups and conference championship results between South Dakota State and South Dakota in 17 sports, with each school accumulating points toward the overall series championship.
The Jackrabbits currently hold a 4-3 lead in the 2017-18 series, and have won it three of the last five years.

The Series also recognizes outstanding academic achievement by the schools' student-athletes and aims to raise awareness, funds and donations for Feeding South Dakota, a statewide not-for-profit with the goal of eliminating hunger in South Dakota. More information can be found atÂ

- South Dakota State has a 16-game home winning streak against Summit League opponents. Its last home loss was Jan. 17, 2016, to South Dakota. The streak ranks ninth in the latest NCAA statistics.
- The Jacks' seven-game overall win streak versus league opponents, dates to a win at Fort Wayne Feb. 18, 2017.
