SIOUX FALLS -- South Dakota State swimming team's
Wyatt Rumrill and
Jared Miller were each named to the 2018-19 Summit League Academic All-League Team, announced by the league office Monday morning.
Rumrill has a cumulative 4.00 GPA in the classroom while breaking records for the Jacks in the pool. The Senior and Human Biology major broke four school records at the Summit League Championships in February in the 100 breast (55.11), 200 breast (2:00.26), 100 IM (51.78) and the 400 medley relay (3:19.18).
Miller has a 3.98 GPA so far in his sophomore year at SDSU while majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He holds the school record in the 200 back (1:49.13) and finished 10th in the 100 back, fifth in the 200 back and 10th in the 200 IM while helping the 800 free relay team place third and the 200 medley relay team fourth.
This is the third time Rumrill has received the honor, and the first for Miller. To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.
