HARRIS, Mich. - The South Dakota State men's golf team finished in 10th place at the Island Resort Intercollegiate Monday at Sage Run Golf Club.
The squad combined to shoot a 298 (+10) round Monday, bringing its final team total to 895 (+31).
Matthew Schaefer had the best performance among the Jackrabbits. After firing a 72 (E) and 66 (-6) in Sunday's first and second rounds, Schaefer recorded a 72 (E) on his last 18 holes to finish -6. He tied for fourth place overall.
Ty Kretz, who competed individually, finished in a tie for 16th place. He carded a 72 (E) Monday to go with a 73 (+1) and 72 (E) from Sunday's action. The sophomore rolled in an eagle on the eighth hole.

Blake Schaper (228, +12),
Bryson Mercier (237, +21) and
Luke Honner (237, +21) joined Schaefer in representing the Jackrabbit team.

Tyler Seeling (233, +17),

Tucker D'Allaird (237, +21) all competed individually.
Illinois State and Toledo each finished the tournament 8-under to share the team title. Illinois State's Valentin Pegunet earned medalist honors after a blistering 65 (-7) final round to finish -13.
NOTES
- Schaefer collected 15 birdies on the weekend, the second highest total of all players.
- Tucker D'Allaird recorded a par on 36 holes, the fourth highest total of all players.Â
