Six members of the South Dakota State golf programs were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team Tuesday. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom.
Men's golf honorees
Noah Boraas, Sr., Alexandria, Minn. - 3.633 undergraduate GPA in business economics / 3.889 graduate GPA in consumer affairs
Matthew Schaefer, 5th, Fordyce, Neb. - 3.531 GPA in agricultural business
Women's golf honorees
Tatum Depuydt, So., Marion, Iowa - 4.0 GPA in business economics
Alex Kandolin, Sr., Rapid City, S.D. - 3.69 GPA in human biology / pre-physician assistant
Shakira-Ann Kuys, So., Port Augusta, South Australia - 4.0 GPA in psychology
Piper Stubbs, So., Beaumaris, Australia - 3.809 GPA in political science
To be nominated for the award, student-athletes must be carry at least a 3.50 grade-point average, be at least a sophomore in academic in athletic and academic standing, and be a starter or key reserve. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America® consideration. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
