SIOUX FALLS — South Dakota State's Gigi Hioki was honored Tuesday as the Summit League Kwik Star Women's Swimming Peak Performer of the Week for her efforts in an Oct. 10 dual against Augustana.
A junior from Honolulu, Hawaii, Hioki was a four-time winner for the Jackrabbits in their home-opening dual. She claimed individual titles in both the 100-yard (53.96 seconds) and 200 freestyle (1:55.20), and also anchored SDSU victories in both the 400 medley relay (3:58.41) and the 200 freestyle relay (1:37.07).Â
The award was Hioki's first of the season and third of her career.
SDSU returns to competition Friday by hosting Northern State in dual action. Start time for the Senior Day meet is 5 p.m. at the Marshall Center Pool.
