BROOKINGS, S.D. - The South Dakota State women's basketball team overcame a slow start to beat Omaha 85-41 Wednesday evening in First Bank & Trust Arena.

The sides were tied at 14 after 10 minutes, but the Jacks dominated the rest of the game, outscoring the Mavericks 71-27 over the final three periods. SDSU improves to 17-5 overall and 7-1 in the Summit League while Omaha drops to 2-21 on the year and 0-8 in conference play.

SDSU's depth was on full display with 12 different players getting into the scoring column. The Jacks were led by
Brooklyn Meyer's 18 points, 14 of which came in the second half. The senior shot a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor and added 11 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block to her stat line. Meyer ended the game with 1,800 career points and is the sixth Jackrabbit in program history to reach the milestone.

Madison Mathiowetz finished with 13 points, knocking down three shots from behind the arc, and adding three steals.
Brooklynn Felchle provided a spark from the bench with a career-high 12 points on 6-of-7 shooting.
Mahli Abdouch contributed nine points and a team-high six assists and
Katie Vasecka added nine points, four rebounds and three assists.

The Jacks out-rebounded the Mavericks 48-27. SDSU scored 42 paint points, compared to eight paint points from Omaha. SDSU shot 54% from the field and hit 12 3-pointers. The Jackrabbits defense held Omaha to 26% field goal shooting.

Omaha's Regan Juenenmann was the only Maverick to reach double figures. She scored 10 points and had five rebounds and two assists.

- SDSU leads the all-time series against Omaha, 60-31.
- The Jacks have shot better than 50% eight times this season.
- SDSU has held opponents to below 30% field goal shooting three times this season. Two of those occasions were games against Omaha.Â
