South Dakota State freshman Fiona Jones continued her hot streak and got plenty of help from sophomores Kelli Fiegen and Ellyce Youngren as the Jackrabbit volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory over Centenary on Friday in their home and league opener.
Jones led the Jacks with 14 kills, Fiegen and Youngren both pitched in 10 in the win, which improves SDSU to 2-5 overall, 1-0 in Summit League play. Centenary falls to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in league play.
Fiegen reached her 10 kills in 15 attempts with just two errors for an astounding .533 hitting percentage. Youngren got to 10 kills in 20 attempts with just one miscue for a .450 hitting percentage.

Centenary scored the first four points of the match, and held onto the lead until Jackrabbit senior Stacey Wernert took over the server with her team down 14-12. The Jacks scored the next nine points and never looked back.
The Ladies mounted a threat again the third set, but the Jacks put together a 6-0 run to put the match away.
