South Dakota State sophomore Ellyce Youngren smacked 19 kills with an astounding .643 hitting percentage in a 3-1 Jackrabbit win over Oral Roberts on Saturday in Frost Arena.
The Jackrabbits, who won by the set scores of 18-25, 25-17, 25-14 and 25-20, improve to 3-5 on the season overall, and a perfect 2-0 in Summit League play.
The Golden Eagles fall to 4-5 overall, 0-2 in league play.
Youngren added eight block assists and one solo block to her monster match, and got help from Kelli Fiegen, who added 13 kills with an impressive .476 hitting percentage, while Fiona Jones pitched in with 11 kills and added 10 digs for the double-double.
Serena Cate led ORU with 11 kills.
The Jackrabbits combined to hit .347 for the match (54-15-121) and held ORU to .145 (47-27-138). SDSU also out-blocked ORU 16-2 for the match.
The Jackrabbits return to action next weekend, when they play their first Summit League Road match of the season at Oakland on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
