The South Dakota State volleyball team dropped its final two matches at the Green Bay Country Inn & Suites Classic on Saturday, falling 3-1 to the host Phoenix and 3-0 to Central Michigan.
Green Bay won by the set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-14 and 25-22, while Central Michigan got the sweep by the scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-9.
The pair of losses drops the Jackrabbits to 1-5 on the season.
Fiona Jones and Kelli Fiegen both finished the first match of the day with a dozen kills to lead the Jacks, Ellyce Youngren added 10 kills to go along with her match-high five block assists. Jones, who made the all-tournament team, also added a team-high 16 digs for her second straight double-double.
Nikki Hintz led all players and a trio of Phoenix with double digit kills with 16.
No Jackrabbit recorded more than four kills in the second match of the day against Central Michigan, as SDSU struggled to hit -.095 for the match. Lauren Krupsky led all players with 10 kills, as CMU capitalized on the Jacks struggles by hitting .338 for the match.
The Jacks return to action on Friday, when they open the home schedule and The Summit League season against Centenary in Frost Arena at 7 p.m.
