BROOKINGS, S.D.—Once again this season the South Dakota State women's basketball team battles for the top spot in The Summit League standings when it travels to Tulsa, Okla., for a 7 p.m. game vs. Oral Roberts.
- SDSU sits tied atop the latest Summit League standings with records of 16-4 overall and 6-1 in league play. The Jackrabbits are tied with Oral Roberts and South Dakota.
- Summit League Freshman of the Year candidate Madison Guebert led three Jackrabbits in double digits with a game-high 21 points in a dominating 85-63 win over Western Illinois Jan. 23. The rookie was 8 of 11 from the field, including 5 of 8 from 3-point range.
- Oral Roberts is riding a six-game winning streak, which includes three consecutive home wins. The Golden Eagles improved to 9-10 overall and 6-1 in Summit League play after defeating Denver, 65-33, Jan. 23.
- The Golden Eagles' six wins are over IUPUI, South Dakota, North Dakota State, Fort Wayne, Omaha and the Pioneers. Their lone loss was at Western Illinois (72-61) in the season opener Jan. 1.
- Wednesday's game marks the 16th meeting between South Dakota State and Oral Roberts. SDSU leads the series 9-6 after winning both regular-season games and The Summit League Championship semifinal game last year.
Noteworthy
- Of its eight Summit League opponents in the last eight years, SDSU has two losses to South Dakota and one each to Denver, Fort Wayne and Western Illinois. The most losses have been to Oral Roberts (6), including four on the road, since 2007-08.
- SDSU is 5-1 on the road this season with its lone loss coming at Green Bay, 58-57, Dec. 19.

- The Golden Eagles are 9-10 overall, 6-1 in league play and 4-2 in home games this year. Their 6-1 start is the best start in Summit League play since the 2010-11 season when they started 13-0.
- ORU won its sixth Summit League game, topping Denver, 65-33, Jan. 23.
- Wednesday's game is Oral Roberts' third league home game (2-0) and the Golden Eagles are 5-0 in their last five games.
- Oral Roberts starts two freshmen, two sophomores and a senior.
- The Golden Eagles average 59.1 points a contest while giving up 61.4. Only Omaha has scored more than 60 points vs. Oral Roberts in the last seven league games.
- ORU has two players averaging double figures in scoring. Sophomore guard Kaylan Mayberry leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.3 points per game. In league-only games, she is averaging 14.9 points
- Mayberry is also the squad's top playmaker, dishing 2.2 per outing.

Breaking Down the Oral Roberts Series
- Wednesday's game will be the 16th meeting between SDSU and Oral Roberts—a series that began when the Jackrabbits joined The Summit League at the start of the 2007-08 season.

Jackrabbits Advance to the Title Game
- SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—South Dakota State closed The Summit League Championship semifinal with a 20-6 run and recorded a 59-48 win over Oral Roberts at the PREMIER Center with a session-record 6,704 fans in attendance.
- Alexis Alexander broke a 42-42 tie with a shot inside the foul line at 4:40. After an Oral Roberts turnover, Megan Waytashek, who led the Jackrabbits with 13 points, sank two free throws at 3:48. Following another ORU turnover, Ellie Thompson made a 3-point field goal for a 49-42 lead at 3:22.
- Oral Roberts, which was led by Vicky McIntyre's 20 points, 18 rebounds and tournament-record 12 blocked shots, committed 15 second-half turnovers. Until the Golden Eagles sank a field goal with 1:34 to play to make it 54-44, their last field goal was a 3-point field goal by Dorottya Balya at 7:16.
