South Dakota State continues its road stretch at Kansas City Saturday afternoon. The Jackrabbits are coming off a 99-47 win at North Dakota Wednesday night, during which the Jacks shot a season-high .613 from the field. Kansas City most recently fell 64-54 at Denver Wednesday night.Â
KEY STORYLINES
- South Dakota State (15-5, 5-1 Summit) continues the conference slate at Kansas City (6-14, 3-4 Summit) Saturday afternoon. The Jackrabbits are in the midst a five-game stretch that includes four road games.
- SDSU is 19th in Division I in field goal percentage at 47% for the season. The Jacks are coming off their best shooting performance of the year, a .613 effort at UND.
- Led by Brooklyn Meyer's 21.4 points per game, SDSU has five players averaging at least 7.0 points per contest. Meyer is also the Jacks' passing leader with 2.7 APG and is one of five players averaging at least 2.0 assists per game.
- Brooklyn Meyer ranks 12th in the nation in scoring (21.4 PPG) and fifth in field goal percentage (.628). She is one of three players in the country averaging 20+ points and shooting better than 60% this year. Of those players, Meyer is the leader in assists and blocks.
- Madison Mathiowetz is SDSU's second leading scorer with 11.9 points per game and has scored at least 15 points in three straight games.
- Emilee Fox adds 8.8 points per game overall and 11.8 points, on average, in Summit League games. The sophomore averages 2.2 3-pointers per game at a .583 clip and is the only player in the country with 2.0+ 3-point makes per game while shooting better than 50% from deep.
- SDSU scores 82.0 points per Summit game and allows just 54.7 points, both of which lead the conference. Kansas City scores 61.9 points per Summit game (sixth in the league) and allows 66.3 points per game (fourth in the conference)
- SDSU is 86-2 in the Summit League regular season since the start of the 2020-21 slate. The Jackrabbits' streak of consecutive regular season conference wins ended at 67 last weekend and will go into the NCAA record book as the fifth longest such streak in history.
