The South Dakota State volleyball team suffered its first home loss of the season on Saturday as rival North Dakota State extended its Summit League win streak to 28 matches with a 3-1 win over the Jackrabbits.
The loss drops the Jacks to 6-11 overall and 5-4 in the Summit League, while NDSU improves to 13-3 overall and 9-0 in league play.
Fiona Jones led all players with 17 kills in the loss and added 13 digs for her team-high ninth double-double. Thyele Rechatiko finished with 30 set assists and tied Stacey Wernert with team-high 15 digs for her third double-double.
Chrissy Knuth led NDSU with 16 kills, Brooke VandenBergh added 14 kills and 13 digs in the win for a double-double of her own.
The hot-hitting Bison controlled the match with their efficient hitting, as they out-hit the Jacks .226-.131 for the match.
The Jacks held the Bison to a .077 hitting percentage in the third set, which led to an SDSU win, but allowed them to hit .432 in the fourth and final set.
The Jackrabbits start their second trip through the Summit League next weekend, when they host IPFW on Friday at 7 p.m., and Oakland on Saturday at 4 p.m.
